Task
We received an inquiry from a regional distributor of construction machinery and equipment. The task was to deliver a 40-foot container of original power tools (rotary hammers, angle grinders, cordless screwdrivers) of a well-known Chinese brand from Ningbo to Yekaterinburg.
Challenge
Importing branded goods always involves the risk of customs suspension. Customs strictly monitors compliance with intellectual property rights. All information regarding goods, trademarks, right holders, and authorized representatives in the Russian Federation is listed in the TROIS (Customs Register of Intellectual Property Objects). Importing goods without the right holder's authorization or making an error in safety certificates can lead to the container being detained at the border pending clarification, with fines imposed on the importer.
