Customs clearance is one of the most critical stages of international delivery. Errors in documents, incorrectly selected FEAC code, lack of permits or unprepared evidence base can lead to adjustment of customs value (CAV), additional payments and cargo delay in temporary storage warehouse.
TransGID is a licensed customs representative (Certificate of the FCS of the Russian Federation No. 2057) and an Authorized Economic Operator. We take over the entire customs clearance process: from preliminary document verification to declaration release and interaction with customs authorities.
TransGID clients receive comprehensive FEA support in one window: international logistics, customs clearance, product certification, international payments and goods redemption.
We handle cargo from China, Turkey, UAE, India, Vietnam, South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Bangladesh, countries of Europe, Africa, North and South America.
Why companies trust TransGID with customs clearance
Each delivery is assigned a specialist who checks documents, handles clearance and responds to requests from customs authorities until the declaration is released.
Before submitting the declaration, we analyze the risks of customs value adjustment, check the supplier's documents and prepare a set of materials to confirm the declared price of the goods.
International logistics, customs clearance, international payments, product certification and goods redemption are available under one contract and one support team.
What goods do we clear
We work with both standard commercial shipments and complex projects requiring additional permits, certifications, or preliminary FCS decisions.
Goods for marketplaces and retail
Clothing, footwear, textiles, furniture, cosmetics, consumer goods, and products for marketplaces. We organize marking with the 'Cheстный знак' at foreign consolidation warehouses before crossing the Russian border.
Equipment and production lines
We clear production complexes, CNC machines, pumps, production lines, special equipment, and multi-component machinery. If necessary, we assist in obtaining classification decisions from the FCS.
Electronics and IT equipment
Servers, computer hardware, electronic components, telecommunications equipment, industrial automation, and accessories.
Components, raw materials, and chemical products
Spare parts, building materials, industrial chemicals, polymers, furniture fittings, and raw materials for manufacturing enterprises.
Types of customs procedures
We handle most customs procedures used by Russian FEA participants:
- import of goods for domestic consumption (IM 40);
- export of goods (EK 10);
- customs transit;
- temporary import;
- temporary export;
- reimport;
- reexport.
If necessary, company specialists help choose the optimal clearance scheme before concluding a foreign trade contract.
What documents are needed to start work
For a preliminary calculation of customs duties and document verification, the following are required:
- invoice (Invoice);
- packing list (Packing List);
- technical description of the goods;
- contract with the supplier (if available).
In most cases, this is sufficient to determine the FEA commodity code, calculate duties, and identify potential risks in advance.
Cost of customs clearance services
The cost of services depends on the nomenclature of the goods, the number of FEA codes, the country of origin of the products, and the supply scheme.
It is impossible to answer the question «How much does cargo customs clearance cost?» without analyzing the documents. Even the same product can be registered at different rates depending on the characteristics and configuration.

What is included in the cost of customs clearance
Customs clearance is not just about submitting a declaration. Each shipment is assigned a specialist who accompanies the cargo from document verification to the release of the goods and interaction with customs authorities at all stages of the procedure.
The basic cost includes:
- verification of invoices, packing lists, contracts, and transport documents before submitting the declaration;
- preliminary verification of FEA codes and recommendations on goods classification;
- calculation of customs value, duties, VAT, and customs fees;
- analysis of risks of customs value adjustment (CVA);
- verification of the need for certification, declarations of conformity, and other permits;
- registration of an FEA participant with customs authorities if necessary;
- preparation of the goods declaration and related documents;
- submission of the declaration to the Electronic Declaration Centers;
- interaction with inspectors and preparation of responses to customs authorities' inquiries;
- representation of the client's interests in the customs clearance process;
- monitoring of customs payments and fees write-off;
- consultative support for the shipment at all stages of the procedure.
If necessary, we will additionally organize preliminary customs inspection of the cargo, escort of inspections, registration of internal customs transit (ICT), obtaining permits, product certification, and other procedures related to a specific shipment.
What affects the final cost
Number of FEA commodity codes
The wider the range of goods, the more time is required for classification and preparation of the declaration.
Nature of cargo
Equipment, chemical products, dual-use goods, and products with mandatory certification require additional documentation.
Region of registration
The cost of services provided by temporary storage warehouses and terminals varies depending on the region of registration.
Number of contracts
A separate declaration is issued for each foreign trade contract, regardless of whether the cargo is transported in one batch or several.
Where customs clearance is carried out
We work with all major Electronic Declaration Centers and customs posts in Russia.
We process cargo arriving through Vladivostok, Nakhodka, Novorossiysk, St. Petersburg, Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo, Vnukovo, as well as through railway and road checkpoints.
Thanks to electronic declaration, the place of arrival of the cargo does not limit the possibilities of registration. TransGID specialists select the most convenient customs authority based on the specifics of the supply.
Preliminary protection of customs value
Adjustment of customs value (CAV) remains one of the most common problems during import.
Before submitting the declaration, we analyze the supplier's documents, export declarations, commercial offers, manufacturer's price lists, and other supporting materials. This allows us to prepare evidence in advance and reduce the risk of additional charges by customs authorities.
No broker can guarantee the absence of CAV. However, high-quality preparation of documents significantly reduces the likelihood of such situations.
FEA outsourcing and registration under the broker's contract
Not every company is ready to engage in foreign economic activity on its own.
For such cases, TransGID offers FEA outsourcing. We act as an agent for purchasing goods, organize international payments to suppliers, deliver cargo, carry out customs clearance and hand over the released goods to the client according to Russian documents.
The client receives the goods with a set of closing documents without the need to work with currency control, foreign suppliers and customs authorities.
Customs clearance of consolidated cargo
Consolidated cargo requires increased attention to documents. The error of one participant in the supply chain can lead to a delay of the entire container.
Our specialists check the set of documents in advance, consolidate information on commodity items and prepare the declaration before the cargo arrives at the customs post.
This allows us to speed up the release of goods and reduce the risk of additional inspections.
How long does customs clearance take?
If there is a complete set of documents, issuing a declaration usually takes from 4 to 24 hours. The period depends on the category of goods, the workload of the post and the need for additional inspections.
Is it possible to determine the FEA commodity code before the supply begins?
Yes. Send us the technical description of the goods, and our specialists will conduct preliminary classification and calculate the amount of customs payments even before shipment.
Do you work with marketplaces?
Yes. We process goods for Ozon, Wildberries, Yandex Market and other platforms. We provide the declaration number, help with certification and marking of products.
What to do if the customs authority requests additional documents?
We independently interact with customs authorities: prepare responses to inquiries and form a package of supporting documents.
What is the difference between registration under the broker's stamp and registration under the broker's contract?
When registering under the broker's stamp, your company acts as the importer. When registering under the broker's contract, we take on the purchase of goods, international payments, logistics and customs clearance.
Is it possible to calculate duties and VAT in advance?
Yes. To calculate, you will need an invoice, packing list and description of the goods. After analyzing the documents, we will prepare a preliminary calculation of customs payments.
Do you work only with China?
No. We handle cargo from China, Turkey, the UAE, India, Southeast Asia, Europe, North and South America, Africa, and other regions of the world.
Do you handle equipment and production lines?
Yes. We regularly work with machines, production lines, industrial equipment, and multi-component projects.
Is it possible to clear cargo if the supplier has not yet prepared the full set of documents?
Yes. We can check the available documents before shipment, point out possible errors, and prepare a list of missing documents in advance. This helps to avoid delays after the cargo arrives in Russia.
