Rail freight from China and Russian ports

Rail container transportation allows you to deliver cargo from China to central Russia in 18–25 days without overpaying for air freight. This format is ideal for equipment, electronics, components, marketplace goods, and commercial shipments for which sea freight takes too long.

TransGID arranges delivery via accelerated container trains from China, as well as rail container dispatch from the ports of Vladivostok, Nakhodka, Novorossiysk, and Saint Petersburg. Cargo safety is our priority. That is why we use flatcars with container fittings. This eliminates cargo transshipment into open wagons, reduces the risk of damage during sorting, and speeds up terminal handling. We also process all documentation and track cargo transit up to the destination station.

Thanks to direct contracts with flatcar operators, we guarantee available space even during peak seasons.

If your cargo arrives by sea at Vladivostok or Nakhodka, we will arrange its on-forwarding by rail. Routes from Vladivostok to Moscow, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk, and Kazan are the most in demand.

We provide a full delivery cycle:

1. Container dispatch from the port (VMTP, VSC, VMKT, VMPP) to the railway station.
2. Issuing internal customs transit (ICT) if the cargo is not customs cleared.
3. Rail tariff payment and flatcar provision.
4. Dispatch to the regions – we organize rail shipping from Far East ports, as well as Novorossiysk and Saint Petersburg.

We work with all freight stations. Depending on the final recipient's warehouse, we select a station with the lowest trucking haulage rates:

• Moscow hub: Vorsino, Selyatino, Bely Rast, Elektrougli, Khovrino, Silikatnaya, Kupavna.
• Saint Petersburg: Shushary, Avtovo.
• Regions: Kleshchikha (Novosibirsk), Blochnaya (Perm), Koltsovo (Yekaterinburg), and others.

Choosing the right station saves up to 15% of your last-mile delivery budget. We will advise where terminal release fees are currently lower and truck access is easier.

Many freight forwarders use open wagons (gondola cars meant for coal) to cut costs. While cheaper, it is risky: containers can be damaged during crane operations because securement on them is less reliable.

That is why we choose:

• Safety. The container is securely locked with twistlocks (fittings). It does not shift during train maneuvers.
• Speed. No terminal time is wasted on complex slinging.
• Versatility. We carry standard 20- and 40-foot containers. 80-foot long-wheelbase fitting flatcars are also available for carrying two 40-foot containers at once.

Rail freight calculation depends on the cargo type (ETSNG code), weight, and seasonal RZD coefficients. Our rate includes: railway tariff, flatcar provision (drop-off), station fees, security escort, and container terminal release at the destination station.
