We transport containers on specialized platforms without unnecessary transshipments and with minimal risk of cargo damage.
Railway transportation from China and Russian ports

Railway container transportation allows you to deliver cargo from China to central Russia in 18–25 days without overpaying for air transport. This format is suitable for equipment, electronics, components, goods for marketplaces and commercial consignments, for which sea delivery is too long.
TransGID organizes transportation by accelerated container trains from China, as well as the export of containers by rail from the ports of Vladivostok, Nakhodka, Novorossiysk and St. Petersburg. Our priority is the safety of the cargo. That's why we use fitting platforms. This eliminates the need to reload goods into gondola cars, reduces the risk of damage during sorting and speeds up terminal processing. We also issue documents and monitor the movement of cargo to the destination station.
Direct railway service with China
For those who are not ready to wait 45–50 days for cargo by sea, we offer an alternative: a direct train from China delivers goods to central Russia in 18–25 days.
TransGID organizes railway delivery from China through border crossings:
- Zabaikalsk / Manchuria – the main land route
- Naushki / Zamyun-Uud – transit through Mongolia
- Dostyk / Altinkol – transit through Kazakhstan
Thanks to direct agreements with platform operators, we guarantee the availability of seats even during peak seasons.
Export from ports by rail
If your cargo has arrived by sea in Vladivostok or Nakhodka, we will organize its further shipment by rail. Routes from Vladivostok to Moscow, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk and Kazan are the most popular.
We provide a full delivery cycle:
- Removal of the container from the port (VMTP, VSK, VMKT, VMPP) to the railway station.
- Registration of VTT (internal customs transit) if the cargo has not been customs cleared.
- Payment of railway tariff and provision of a platform.
- Sending to the regions – we organize railway transportation from the ports of the Far East, as well as Novorossiysk and St. Petersburg.
Why companies choose TransGID for railway transportation
We take care of BTT, customs clearance and cargo support until release.
We operate through Zabaikalsk, Naushki and Kazakhstan, selecting the optimal route for each specific shipment.
We organize container shipments from Vladivostok, Nakhodka, Novorossiysk and St. Petersburg to any region of the country.
Destination stations
We work with all freight stations. Depending on the recipient's final warehouse, we will select the station with the minimum rate for road haulage:
- Moscow node: Vorsino, Selyatino, Bely Rast, Elektrougli, Khovrino, Silikatnaya, Kupavna.
- Saint Petersburg: Shushary, Avtovo.
- Regions: Kleshikha (Novosibirsk), Blokova (Perm), Koltsovo (Yekaterinburg) and others.
Choosing the right station saves up to 15% of the budget for last-mile delivery. We will tell you where deregistration is cheaper now and it's easier for trucks to get in.
Why fitment platforms are important
Many freight forwarders use gondola cars (coal cars) to save money. It's cheaper, but risky: the container can be damaged during crane operations, as the fastening on them is less reliable.
That's why we choose:
- Safety. The container is rigidly fixed with fittings (locks). It does not shift during train maneuvers.
- Speed. There is no need to waste time on complex slinging at the terminal.
- Versatility. We carry standard 20- and 40-foot containers. Long-base fitment platforms of 80 feet are available for transporting two «forties» at once.
Cost and rates
The calculation of railway transportation depends on the type of cargo (ETSNG code), weight and seasonal coefficients of Russian Railways. Our rate includes: railway tariff, platform provision (drop-off), station fees and protection and deregistration of the container at the destination station.
Please note: the cost of railway transportation changes monthly. Request current rates for railway transportation of goods from managers.
What is the difference between sending in a gondola car and on a platform?
A gondola car is designed for bulk cargo. Transporting containers in them is more difficult and increases the risk of damage to the packaging. Transportation on fitment platforms is a professional standard: the container is securely fastened at regular corners, which guarantees immobility. We recommend platforms.
How long does it take for a direct train from China?
The average period is 18–25 days from the moment the train leaves until it arrives at the station in Moscow (for example, Vorsino station). It's 2 times faster than by sea.
What is container deregistration?
It's paperwork at the arrival station, payment of terminal services and removal of the container from protection. Only after that the cargo can be taken out. We take care of this.
Do you carry dangerous goods by rail?
Yes, but not all hazard classes are allowed for rail transportation. Send us the MSDS and we will check the possibility of sending through specific stations.
Can I send a consolidated shipment by train?
Yes, we form consolidated containers (LCL) for sending by direct trains. This allows you to get UCP speed even for small batches.
