Russian importers are increasingly choosing Vietnam for the purchase of textiles, wooden furniture, as well as food products — green coffee, rice, nuts and spices. For a number of goods of Vietnamese origin, tariff preferences can be applied within the framework of the agreement between Vietnam and the EAEU, which allows reducing customs duties if there is a certificate of origin of the EAV form.

TransGID organizes the entire import cycle from Vietnam. We pick up goods from manufacturers in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong or Danang and deliver them to the recipients' warehouses throughout Russia. TransGID specialists organize transportation, customs formalities, verification of supplier documents and help with international payments to Vietnamese counterparties.

What goods are profitable to import from Vietnam

Vietnam remains one of the largest production centers in Southeast Asia. In recent years, many international companies have partially moved production here from China, which has led to the development of industrial infrastructure and an increase in exports.

Russian companies import textiles and ready-made clothing, shoes, furniture, wood products, coffee, tea, nuts, spices, seafood, electronics, household appliances, components for production and goods for marketplaces from Vietnam. For many categories of products, Vietnamese factories allow you to get a more favorable cost compared to Chinese manufacturers, especially when it comes to labor-intensive production with a high proportion of manual labor.

Why companies choose TransGID for delivery from Vietnam

Cargo monitoring at all stages of transportation

We track the shipment from the supplier's warehouse to the delivery of the cargo in Russia.

Customs representative license

We clear cargo under the TransGID stamp without involving third-party brokers.

Cargo consolidation

We collect goods from several suppliers in Vietnam into one shipment.

Financial logistics

We help organize payment to suppliers and international payments within the framework of current legislation.

Vietnam or China: where is it more profitable to buy goods

Business is often faced with a choice: to place an order at familiar factories in Guangzhou or look for a supplier near Ho Chi Minh City. Here are three factors to consider.

Automation versus manual labor

In China, it is more profitable to locate automated production — there is a powerful infrastructure, robotic conveyors, and streamlined logistics. It is cheaper to produce labor-intensive goods that require a lot of manual work in Vietnam. Because of this, many companies have moved their sewing and woodworking enterprises there.

Division of commodity niches

It is still more profitable to bring complex equipment, electronics, tools, special equipment, and industrial chemicals from China. Vietnam is more often chosen for the purchase of textiles, clothing, furniture, food products, wood products, and goods of mass demand.

Customs benefits and 25% discount

For a number of goods of Vietnamese origin, tariff preferences can be applied within the framework of the agreement between Vietnam and the EAEU. This requires a certificate of origin of the EAV form, confirming the country of production of the goods.

With large supplies, this measure can significantly reduce the cost of import. Our specialists check the supplier's documents in advance and control the correctness of the certificate оформления.

In most cases, the choice between China and Vietnam depends not so much on the cost of transportation as on the specifics of the goods. China remains the leader in the production of electronics, industrial equipment, and complex technology. Vietnam is more often chosen for the purchase of clothing, shoes, furniture, food products, and goods of mass demand. Many Russian importers use both countries simultaneously, diversifying suppliers and reducing dependence on one market.

Main ports of Vietnam for international transportation

Most of the export cargo is sent through the ports of Haiphong, Ho Chi Minh City, Cai Mep, and Danang. The choice of port directly affects the cost of transportation and delivery time. Productions in the northern part of the country usually operate through Haiphong, while enterprises in the south use Ho Chi Minh City and Cai Mep.

When calculating logistics, TransGID specialists take into account the location of the factory, the cost of internal delivery, and available shipping lines to select the optimal route.

Routes: 3 sea services and air delivery

The country's geography is stretched along the coast, so the choice of shipping port directly affects the cost of transportation and transit time.

Sea transportation from Vietnam

Containers are sent from the ports of Haiphong, Ho Chi Minh City, Cai Mep, and Danang. We offer three main delivery routes.

Through the Far East

The fastest multimodal service. The container arrives in Vladivostok, after which it is sent by rail to the central part of Russia, the Urals, or Siberia.

Through Novorossiysk

The best option for recipients from the Southern Federal District and the Volga Region. The average delivery time is 35–45 days.

Through St. Petersburg

Suitable for companies in the North-West region and allows you to reduce internal transportation costs after the cargo arrives in Russia.

Air delivery from Vietnam

Carried out by regular flights from international airports in the country with arrival at Sheremetyevo or Domodedovo. The average delivery time is 1–3 days.

Air transportation is usually used for product samples, urgent components, electronics and perishable goods.

Refrigerated transportation from Vietnam

Vietnam is a large supplier of seafood, fruits, coffee and other products that require temperature control during transportation.

For such cargo, refrigerated containers are used with constant temperature control throughout the entire route. We organize transportation through Vladivostok, Novorossiysk and St. Petersburg, followed by delivery throughout Russia by road or rail.

Transportation of dangerous goods from Vietnam

Chemical substances, paints and varnishes, batteries, industrial reagents and other categories of dangerous goods are regularly supplied from Vietnam to Russia.

Before shipment, TransGID specialists check the classification of the cargo, packaging requirements, the presence of MSDS and select an acceptable route of transportation, taking into account the requirements of sea lines, air carriers and customs authorities.

Shipments: from one box to dozens of containers

We do not set restrictions on the minimum purchase volume and select a delivery scheme for a specific client's task.

Consolidated cargo from Vietnam (LCL)

If the shipment is small, ordering a separate container is impractical. We pick up the goods from the supplier, deliver it to the consolidation warehouse, check the packaging and send it along with the cargo of other clients.

This format is suitable for marketplace suppliers, test batches and regular small supplies.

Container delivery from Vietnam (FCL)

For large shipments, containers are loaded directly at the producer's warehouse. For heavy cargo, 20-foot containers are more often used, for bulky goods — 40-foot High Cube containers.

Customs clearance and EAV certificate

One of the advantages of importing from Vietnam is the ability to apply tariff preferences if there is a certificate of origin in the EAV form.

Our declarants control the entire customs clearance process: they check the supplier's documents, select FEA commodity codes, calculate customs duties, and submit declarations to the Electronic Declaration Centre.

We also check the necessity of product certification and prepare a package of documents in advance to release the cargo without delays.

Payment to suppliers in Vietnam

International settlements remain one of the key issues when working with foreign suppliers. TransGID helps to organize payment for goods to Vietnam, make settlements with manufacturers, and prepare documents for accounting and tax reporting.

If necessary, we also provide financial logistics services and agency purchase of goods.

How is the cost of delivery from Vietnam calculated?

The cost depends on the delivery basis, cargo characteristics, port of departure and the chosen route. To calculate, it is enough to send a packing list and an invoice.

Do you buy goods from several Vietnamese factories?

Yes. We organize cargo consolidation in a warehouse in Vietnam and send them in one batch to Russia.

Is it possible to bring machines as part of a consolidated cargo?

If the weight and dimensions of the machine allow it to be safely placed in a standard container, then delivery as a consolidated cargo is possible. We will securely fasten the equipment inside a wooden crate to ensure the cargo arrives intact and does not damage neighboring shipments.

How long does it take to deliver cargo from Vietnam to Russia?

The average sea transportation period is from 25 to 45 days, depending on the route. Air delivery takes from 1 to 3 days.

What documents are needed to apply for tariff preferences?

To receive tariff preferences, it is necessary to confirm the origin of the goods with a certificate of form EAV. We check the supplier's documents in advance and monitor their оформление.

Is it possible to pay the supplier through TransGID?

Yes. We provide financial logistics services and help organize payments with Vietnamese suppliers in accordance with current legislation.
