The cargo turnover of ports in the Primorsky Krai shows stable growth and has increased by 26% over the past 5 years. The turnover of container cargo over the past year alone increased by almost 14% (by 272 thousand TEU).
The import transshipment of containers in 2023 amounted to about 2 million TEU, of which 1 million TEU were handled by the ports of Primorye — that's every second sea container.
The leading position in the region still belongs to the Vladivostok Commercial Sea Port. In 2023, it handled a record 860 thousand TEU, and in January-February 2024, it already handled 130 thousand TEU.
Compared to 2021 and 2022, the speed of work of the Vladivostok Customs has increased significantly:
- customs inspection periods have decreased by almost 1.5 times;
- the period for issuing declarations has been reduced due to decision-making on the procedure before the vessel is moored;
- the electronic declaration center issues about 90% of declarations in less than 4 hours, and more than a third of declarations are issued automatically in less than 5 minutes.
