Cargo turnover of Primorsky Krai ports shows steady growth, having increased by 26% over the past 5 years. Container cargo turnover over the past year alone grew by almost 14% (by 272,000 TEUs).
Import container throughput in 2023 reached about 2 million TEUs, of which 1 million TEUs were handled by Primorye ports — that is every second sea container.
The leading positions in the region are still held by the Commercial Port of Vladivostok. In 2023, it processed a record 860,000 TEUs, and in January–February 2024 already 130,000 TEUs.
Compared to 2021 and 2022, the speed of Vladivostok Customs has increased significantly:
- customs inspection times have decreased by almost 1.5 times;
- declaration release times have shortened due to procedural decisions being made before vessel berthing;
- the electronic declaration center releases about 90% of declarations in less than 4 hours, and more than a third of declarations are issued automatically in less than 5 minutes.
