The Association of Commercial Sea Ports has released data for January 2024.
Compared to last year, the cargo throughput of Russian seaports in January decreased by 6.2% and amounted to 71 million tons. Dry bulk handling volume decreased by 5.8% to 32.8 million tons. At the same time, containerized cargo volume amounted to 4.2 million tons, 5.5% more than a year earlier. Liquid bulk throughput decreased by 6.5% to 38.2 million tons (-6.5%). Export cargo handled totaled 55.9 million tons (-6.6%), import cargo – 3.2 million tons (-1.0%), transit – 6.2 million tons (+5.8%), cabotage – 5.8 million tons (+15.0%).
Cargo throughput of the Far Eastern Basin seaports decreased by 9.1% to 16.9 million tons: Vostochny — 7.0 million tons (-8.1%), Vanino – 1.6 million tons (-42.0%), Vladivostok – 2.8 million tons (+2.7%), Nakhodka – 2.2 million tons (-0.3%), Prigorodnoye – 1.3 million tons (-1.8%).
Cargo throughput of the Arctic Basin seaports decreased by 5.4% to 7.8 million tons: Murmansk — 4.4 million tons (-13.2%), Sabetta – 2.6 million tons (+11.3%), Varandey – 0.5 million tons (0.0%), Arkhangelsk – 0.1 million tons (-6.1%).
Cargo throughput of the Baltic Basin seaports decreased by 4.3% to 21.6 million tons: Ust-Luga — 9.0 million tons (-22.6%), Primorsk – 6.2 million tons (+3.4%), Big Port of St. Petersburg – 4.4 million tons (+43.9%), Vysotsk – 1.2 million tons (+1.9%).
Cargo throughput of the Azov-Black Sea Basin seaports decreased by 7.1% to 24.0 million tons: Novorossiysk — 14.0 million tons (-1.5%), Taman – 3.5 million tons (-16.2%), Tuapse – 2.0 million tons (-9.9%), Kavkaz – 1.5 million tons (-10.0%), Rostov-on-Don – 1.1 million tons (-18.1%).
Cargo throughput of the Caspian Basin seaports amounted to 0.7 million tons (a 1.6-fold increase). Cargo handling volume at the Port of Astrakhan increased to 0.4 million tons (a 1.8-fold increase), while the Port of Makhachkala increased throughput to 0.3 million tons (+11.5%).
