JSC «Russian Railways» transported 1.93 million TEU of loaded and empty containers in the first three months of 2024, which is 11.4% more than in the same period last year.
The number of loaded containers sent in all types of traffic increased by 9.4% and reached 1.4 million TEU. They carried more than 20 million tons of cargo (+10.4%), including:
– chemicals and soda – 211.3 thousand TEU (+1.5%);
– forest cargo – 140.7 thousand (+2.4%);
– chemical and mineral fertilizers – 118.5 thousand (an increase of 1.8 times);
– hardware – 111.5 thousand (+11.2%);
– industrial goods – 108.1 thousand (+3.9%);
– cars and components – 98.1 thousand (+10.4%);
– machines, machine tools, engines – 97 thousand (-10%);
– paper – 88.7 thousand (-7.7%);
– construction materials – 64.5 thousand (an increase of 1.5 times);
– ferrous metals – 55.1 thousand (-16.7%);
– other and assembled cargo – 53.8 thousand (+25.2%);
– grain – 33.9 thousand (an increase of 1.5 times);
– non-ferrous metals – 31.8 thousand (+5.2%);
– oil and petroleum products – 24.9 thousand (+8.4%);
– fish – 9.6 thousand (+3.7%);
– milled products – 8.5 thousand (an increase of 3 times);
– colored ore and sulfuric raw materials – 7.8 thousand (+15.7%);
– meat and animal fat – 6.5 thousand (+15.9%);
– potatoes, vegetables, fruits – 3.9 thousand (-24.9%);
– other food products – 69.3 thousand (+3.2%).
In March, 681.5 thousand TEU were transported in all types of traffic on the Russian Railways network, which is 11.7% more than in March 2023.
